IMPACT
IMPACT provides career development for post-doctoral and advanced pre-doctoral trainees through a six-month mentorship program to focus their work for heightened real-world value. The program is designed to help trainees, known as IMPACT Fellows, to sharpen their career focus, explore alternative career paths, and develop their skills at articulating their work for diverse audiences. Meeting weekly, Fellows work in groups and 1:1 sessions with mentors. Upon completing the program, trainees will have obtained first-hand experiences exploring important personal and professional challenges that otherwise may take years to encounter, and greater confidence to make strategic decisions about their future. Focused on understanding innovation and skill to build a network into the innovation ‘ecosystem’ in the region they are visiting, the program equips students with additional innovation-focused skills for their summer internships, and for their lifelong careers as leaders in the innovation economy. Translational Fellows Program
Translational Fellows Program (TFP) is a competitive, 2-part, program for MIT postdoctoral associates that provides the opportunity for professional development and commercialization of a technology that originated in MIT research. The program provides professional development, mentoring resources and integrated conflict-of-interest (COI) management. The TFP empowers Postdocs to lead commercialization planning efforts, facilitating the launch of a commercial venture.
Part 1, Essentials, is a 2-month short program providing introduction to the research-derived innovation process.  It is a group learning experience based on the NSF I-Corps curriculum. Essentials is open to all Postdocs via self-nomination. Learn more at http://www.rle.mit.edu/translational
